Hairy or Broad Clawed Porcelain Crab
Porcellana platycheles
Is a small crab which is more related to the squat lobsters.
It's carapace grows to 1.5 cm, although the large claws make it look a lot larger.
This specimen was found under some rocks at Poole.
It is mainly a filter feeder, but does scavenge for carrion which it does mainly at night.
