Worm Pipefish, Nerophis lumbriciformis

Worm Pipefish
 Nerophis lumbriciformis

The Worm Pipefish is a small shy pipefish hiding under rocks & amongst dense seaweeds.
It is not easy to spot in rock pools as it hides very well. It only has atop dorsal fin & does not swim very well; it does as it name implies worms around on the bottom.

It grows to just 15cms long.
I would recommend that only experienced cold water marine aquarists consider keeping these as they are fussy feeders eating mainly live foods such as live brine shrimp, copepods & rotifers.
